My home business is taking over my house, when to get a store front?

I need some suggestions here. I have a vinyl graphics business and we are getting so busy that projects are taking over my house. I'd like to move into a shop, but I'm a little scared. I have 2 kids (2&3 years old) that will need a playroom there too.
Any suggestions with moving from a home business to working out of a shop? Expecially with kids.

I owned a 'store front' business for 15 years… didn't have kids (the 2 legged kind) - but I did have the 4 legged kind. Don't sweat the small stuff. I took my kids to work everyday and they knew where they were allowed to be, etc… granted yours are a bit different than mine, but I don't think anyone is going to be concerned with your professionalism just because your children are there…. most of us have to work in some way or another.
When you look for a building, just make sure that you can section an area off for them (they'll need naps, etc) but not so secluded from where you are working that you can't hear them. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, a short, nice, clean partitioned area should work.
Seriously, I don't see it as a problem… some of my clients would drop in when they were in the area - just to see the 'kids'.
The only problem with a shop is the extra overhead, insurance, etc… but if you are doing well, then hopefully the business will afford the extra expense….. GO FOR IT …

My kids were 2 & 4 when I opened my first store. The best memories inthe world. I had a special place for napping, playing, and then had specific area in the showroom for them to play. They learned very quickly that when mommy was with a client they could watch a movie. I saved movies for that time only, so it was exciting and fun. If I had to work late hours it was pizza and movies. Way better than daycare would have been. I could never have put my kids in daycare, so this was my only option. My clients loved watching the kids grow up and soon they were old enough to help with small projects. Good Luck!
Can you build an addition to the house and/or garage for the extra space??? As a home business, you'll get the tax credits and let the business pay for the remodeling.
